While it solves the biggest shortcoming of all the minitrucks, it does have two MAJOR flaws. No heat. No a/c.
Without a/c in Florida, the interior must smell like a locker room.

must not be a fan of torque?

160lb-ft at 6800rpm. Yeah, that’s a usable figure for a pickup truck.

Here are the stock specs for m y first Mazda truck:
“ Engine displacement was 122 cubic inches. The cylinder head was an aluminum single-overhead cam. The truck produced 86 horsepower at 4,800 rpm; the torque was 120 foot-pounds at 2,800 rpm. Both the bore and stroke were 3.39 inches.”
Back then, we made do. My little truck supported at least three moves pulling a U-Haul trailer. You just had to plan ahead for the mountains.
Good times. :)

You must have missed the “6800rpm” part. At the same engine speed your Mazda made 120, the S2k makes about 80.

you could carry body parts at 9000 rpm...

I see your point. On the other hand, I’m not sure my truck could rev to 6,800 rpm. My truck didn’t come with a tach. We did everything by feel.

This is a small RWD pickup. Normally you want low-end torque in a truck because it’s either towing or off-road focused. This is something for people that need to tote a lawn mower or other bulky equipment around on the street

Wait...is that 1800 a picture of a picture? From 43 years ago?
hahahahahahahaha

Possibly
Actually there’s a water mark in the pic so it’s probably not even the same car. And 8k is a CP on a P1800 needing a restoration
